“teakettle-teakettle-teakettle”

Carolina Wren

It’s a hard world, full of little birds with hollow bone wings. Little birds hopping, then above the tree line, high in a largely empty sky. In the atmosphere of this blue-green planet, this little bird loudly sings, “teakettle-teakettle-teakettle.”

Birds see more colors than we do. Their experience of this planet, what it looks like to them, doesn’t match our imagination. Dogs smell a completely different world than we do, and to some animals, what they see is the most irrelevant part of experiencing life.

Tragic things happen, and I’m grateful for family. It’s a hard world, full of little birds with hollow bone wings. Little birds hopping, then above the tree line, high in a largely empty sky. It’s not about answers. There is only the love that remains. Sharing our courage and strength. Rising in the morning, and singing. Hopping. Flying.

I’m sad. It’s a hard world.

I don’t know.
